Welcome to Contemporary Literature

Contemporary-Art-4.jpg

This is a one-semester, elective course for seniors who need to fulfill an English requirement. You will read and explore current fiction and non-fiction texts -- written, oral, and visual -- designed to both expand your appreciation of effective storytelling and to become more alert and sensitive to some of the key issues in today's American culture, such as: creating a meaningful life; understanding the dynamics of power, wealth, and race; and exploring the challenges faced by those who are "other-abled."

Announcement: Representatives from Harper College will be here to meet with any interested seniors on these dates: September 26 (Period 3) and November 2 (Period 6).
